Today I leave for Finland. In my memories, Finland is heavenly. Its like northern Minnesota but with many more wild berries, more saunas and less black flies. I hope to bring back parts of my experience and borrow the Finnish style in my artwork. During a wonderfully busy summer, it will be difficult to leave projects behind, but I think this trip will be a refreshing time to enjoy my sketch book's white pages.
Before I left, I made a trip to Northfield to begin spreading the word about Dogs Along the Cannon River. What a fun experience to visit the old college town again and to stop into almost every store. I look forward to meeting the dogs that will be representing Rice County and the surrounding area.
