First Thursday and Carver Lake Vet

My studio will be open for February's first Thursday: Feb 5th from 4-9pm. Come out of the cold and enjoy the Northrup King Building's studios!

Since Valentine's Day is coming up and I'm planning my own wedding, I'll be giving a discount for all engagement and wedding portraits ordered in February. A drawn or painted portrait emphasizes the love shared between the subjects. The time dedicated to creating a portrait can capture expressions and mood in ways a photograph can not.
If you would like to explore the idea of having a portrait done, please email me at sarah.lintu@gmail.com

I've been invited to display my work at Carver Lake Veterinary Clinic in Woodbury. I am still in the process of measuring wall space and getting work ready for display but I hope to have work up by the end of February. If you visit the Carver Lake Vet, look for Lintu Art!

Hamm Brewery Weekend

The weekend gallery event at the Hamm Brewery in St. Paul was a great success! I had a busy weekend with the show and I got engaged on Friday! Thank you all those friendly gallery guests that congratulated me!
I had the chance to talk about my work this weekend and also hear so many great stories about pet antics and the Hamm Brewery history. The space was beatiful and it was interesting to have so much wall space to display my work. I want to thank everyone involved with putting on the show and I hope that building becomes a busy place for artists and events!

Open studio, City of Lakes Photography, Hamm's Brewery

Next First Thursday: Feb 5th, 5-9pm at Northrup King Building. View art of many local artists, talk to them directly about their work, and explore the NE Art's District!
1500 Jackson Street NE
Minneapolis, MN

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful and fun experience of having our pictures taken professionally with City of Lakes Photography's Jeff Ilse. We were able to take photos at the dog park to include our dog Marilyn. Jeff was great to work with, listened to our ideas, and helped us create images that we will cherish for a lifetime. His website is: http://cityoflakesphotography.com/index.html

Hamm beer will forever be etched into my memory thanks to a few college friends who filled a closet full of the stuff to sell to the underaged and under-informed freshmen. But I have the wonderful experience of making new Hamm memories by being a visiting artist in the newly renovated Hamm Brewery artist studio building. I'll be sharing a space with my Northrup King neighbor Richard Simonsen. The show will be January 17-18 from 10am-6pm and located at the Historic Hamm Brewery Building in St. Paul: 707 E. Minnehaha Ave. I'm not sure if there will be Hamm samples but it will be exciting to see the newly renovated building! http://cbburnetpowell.com/node/6

Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths Art show

A Rotta Love is calling on artists!
We are looking for artists who work in any type of medium and the more creative and different the better! We are very interested in artists who are innovative in their work.
Your work has to have a dog theme. In particular art depicting or inspired by pit bulls and rottweilers. However, any breed that has been characterized by the public as a menace is welcome. For example, Akitas, Chows, and Wolf Hybrids (Breeds in addition to pit bulls and rottweilers most recently slated to be banned in Minnesota). In the past the German Shepard as well as Doberman Pincher were also labeled enemies of the public.
To submit work for the show please email Sarah at sarah.lintu@gmail.com
Please include images of work, title, dimensions, display type (wall, floor, pedestal). The show will be the last weekend in March 2009 in the Northrup King Building third floor gallery (www.northrupkingbuilding.com)
